At first glance, the work from interior design firm Turquoise seems quintecentially Los Angeles. But if you're familiar with the vastly different communities within L.A., you'll also notice that each of the spaces is designed with that specific area in mind.
The projects in Beverly Hills have a distinctly Hollywood feel that is both contemporary and retro.
An office in Santa Monica is brightly adorned in pastel, but not in a shiny enamel way. This fits nicely with the signature mix of architecture that you'll find in this area.
Sherman Oaks is a suburb of the San Fernando Valley, which is a larger suburb located just outside of L.A. proper. There's a bit more space out there and things aren't quite so fast paced.
Vanessa De Vargas is the designer behind Turquoise, as well as a contributor to ApartmentTherapy.com & IKEA. She also has a fantastic selection of lovingly restored vintage & Mid-Century furniture, accessories, & art featured on the Turquoise site.
